I just saw this beautiful quilt on The Quilt Show website and it tugged at my heart. It tugged because it is beautiful but also because of the smooth face you have achieved. I too am a quilter who does faces, mainly hand painted children’s faces, in my quilts. I am on a quest to find out how others are quilting the face and over coming the look of wrinkles in the fabric. Many are thread painting over the painted face and I just tried small stippling but there has to be a better way. What are you doing to achieve this face?
